CPU, Memory and Disk Monitoring

Monitor CPU, Memory and Disk utilization with OpManager 5 OpManager makes monitoring of critical servers for CPU, Memory and Disk Utilization statistics very easy. Operators can get both real-time and historical statistics for CPU, Memory and Disk utilization. At the network level, OpManager produces Top N reports, to identify devices with high CPU, memory, or disk utilization. Using customizable thresholds, operators can be notified well in advance and thereby proactively prevent outages before they occur.

OpManager can monitor CPU, Memory and Disk Space utilization for any SNMP device using the Host Resource MIB and for non-SNMP devices using WMI, Telnet or OpenSSH.

OpManager presents a slick Snapshot of the device, which shows the current CPU, Memory and Disk Utilization values using real-time gauges.

Printer Monitoring

OpManager's printer monitoring functionality automatically discovers printers in your network and places them on a special Printer map. Fault monitoring with OpManager4 Event-alarm correlation, color-coded alarms & Event History - OpManager performs intelligent event processing. It correlates raw network events, filters unwanted events and presents only meaningful alarms to the operator. OpManager supports color-coded alarms presented in a user-friendly format. Administrators can view the event history associated with an alarm and manually clear or delete alarms.

Adding operator notes to an alarm is a very useful fault management feature, using which operators can maintain a log of steps taken to fix a particular problem.

Email / SMS based notifications - OpManager can be configured to automatically notify users through email or SMS whenever an alarm occurs. Administrators can also run external programs or homegrown scripts to be executed automatically when an alarm occurs.

SNMP trap support and custom MIBS support – A good fault monitoring system should be able to support SNMP traps. OpManager supports basic SNMP traps out-of-the-box. Operators can add support for traps from any custom SNMP MIB. OpManager can extract useful information that is sent with SNMP traps as variable bindings. (SNMP varbinds) So if you have bought devices from different vendors, all you need to do is get access to those vendor-specific MIBS and you can easily have OpManager monitoring critical variables on that device. Acknowledging alarms – While working on multiple alarms at the same time, operators should be able quickly mark alarms on which they have already initiated action, much like marking emails as read or unread. Acknowledging alarms in OpManager is another small but extremely useful feature for operators to keep track of new alarms and the ones that they have already read and acted upon.
 
Alarm suppression - OpManager allows operators to suppress alarms from a device. This is especially useful when the device is brought down for scheduled maintenance or upgrades. OpManager automatically starts sending alarms after the specified period has elapsed.

Alarm escalation rules - OpManager allows IT administrators and managers to set up automatic alarm escalation rules. For example, IT managers can setup an escalation rule to get a report of server alarms that are currently open for more than one hour. This report can be periodically sent to the IT manager by email.

OpManager makes performance monitoring effortless to set up and operators can quickly get daily, weekly, monthly or custom period graphs and reports out-of-the-box. Custom graphs and multi-vendor monitoring

OpManager allows operators to setup monitoring of custom SNMP MIB variables. OpManager makes performance monitoring truly vendor-independent. You only need access to the SNMP MIBs provided by your vendor. OpManager allows you to monitor critical parameters of any device and setup thresholds.

OpManager automatically creates the necessary graphs and also alerts you when the threshold is violated.

OpManager offers lot of features and customization to enable adaptive management. This includes adding new device or service types into the system, creating custom map views by grouping devices, support for custom SNMP traps, custom actions and graphs etc. to be adaptive to the end user needs.

OpManager enables adaptive, multi-vendor management by making it simple to integrate new devices that you may purchase at a later date using open standards such as SNMP.
