Comprehensive Discovery

OpStor auto-discovers storage devices periodically and/or on-demand and maintains the inventory up-to-date. In-band, out-of-band, SNMP, and vendor-specific algorithms are used for discovery. Deep discovery enables drill down capability to specific attributes. Administrator can add new devices for discovery at runtime.

Visualization
Topological map represents storage devices, host servers, and their interconnections in the network.

The map icons and links are color-coded to show the current status of the devices and connections. Each device in the map can be drilled-down to view the sub-map and the device properties.

Alarm Management
Alarms indicate the health of the storage infrastructure. Graphs and tables depict consolidated alarm information.

Alarm details view shows the alarm source, last modified time, owner, event history, annotations, and other notes. Critical alarms can be escalated in the form of email and SMS messages, which can be attended to immediately.

Business Reporting
A rich set of business centric reports provides IT managers a holistic view of the storage infrastructure. At-A-Glance reports on performance and availability; Summary reports on vendor, alarm, location, & trouble tickets; and Top N performance and availability reports help IT personnel to analyze trends, utilization, and plan for future requirements.

Asset Management
OpStor’s device inventory maintains up-to-date information on all the storage device in the network. Administrators can populate deployment information such as device location, vendor details, and technical support info (name, email, phone, address) for each of the devices. Trouble ticket history is also maintained against each device for future reference and analysis.

Administration
A simple, web-based user interface allows administrators to configure OpStor for user access permissions, database maintenance, discovery control, and alarm escalation policies. Admin options are visible only to the admin group users and remain hidden for other users.
