NetTools Overview

A great solution for monitoring hosts (with alerting), measuring your network performance and quickly diagnosing network problems. Its most powerful component is host monitoring NetWatch with graphical multiping, alerting capabilities and a history of response time and packets lost (for monitoring the host availability). NetTools also includes other popular tools like ping, fast trace (full trace in 1 second), lookup, port scanner, network scanner, and SNMP browser. What makes NetTools unique, according to our customers, is the most highly intuitive user interface.

Monitor your hosts and be notified
NetWatch - the most advanced part of the program - enables you to monitor the availability of several hosts and their response times simultaneously. You can also set several thresholds so that NetTools will notify you by e-mail, message or sound in case of any problems (i.e. host not responding or slower connection).

NetTools provides the best charts, with a history of response time and percentage of packets lost, making it possible for you to see the availability of your hosts and estimate network load over time. As with all the other tools, you can export this information as text, Excel and html files.

Scan network
With NetCheck you can check the quality of network hardware in your LAN. Poor quality sockets or wires can slow a network down. Without NetCheck, it’s hard to find the cause.

Would you like to find all the nodes in a network ( including remote networks)? No problem. Just enter the IP range to check and you will quickly get a list of nodes and the services running on them. This tool also discovers some trojans and spyware.

Standard IP tools
Trace shows information about every host on the route, its response time, and packets lost - and the full trace is done within 1 second! Lookup is like nslookup, but it shows you all DNS and WHOIS records at once.

Would you like to know how fast your network is? Bandwidth tool will measure network performance without overloading your network.

SNMP made easy
A full SNMP browser, so easy you can use it even if you don’t know a thing about SNMP.

NetTools Features

NetWatch
Host monitoring and alerting. A robust tool which enables you to monitor the availability of several hosts and their response times simultaneously. You can also set several thresholds for NetTools to notify you by e-mail, message, icon tray or sound in case of any problems (i.e. host not responding, slower connection, or too many packets lost).

NetWatch includes multiping with the best charts, with a history of response time and percentage of packets lost. Along with alerting, this is the most important part of NetTools because it helps you track the availability of your hosts and estimate network load over time.

Ping

A visual replacement for Windows ping, but with a 5-minute history. Very easy to use when you just need to check one host quickly.

Trace
This tool is much more than just a replacement for Windows tracert. The full trace is done in 1 second and it gives you the information about every host on the route, its response time and packets lost. This allows you to determine quickly where the problems are occurring. It's easy to locate hosts with degraded performance or ones that are simply overloaded.

Lookup
This works like nslookup, but shows you all the records at once. You do not have to worry about command syntax or record names. And – of course – you get WHOIS information about the domain you are querying.

Bandwidth
Would you like to know how fast your network is? This is the tool for you. The important thing is that it will measure bandwidth without overloading your network.

NetCheck
With this tool you can check the quality of network hardware in your LAN. Poor quality sockets or wires can slow a network down. Until now, you needed expensive network testing equipment to discover the causes of such problems. NetCheck does the job at a fraction of the cost.

Scan host
Allows you to check for all open ports and running services. It not only checks if the port is open, but also sends a request and checks whether the reply meets specific criteria. So you can find out if the host is running HTTP, POP3, Oracle or other services (and not only whether a specific port is open). Port scanner can also discover some trojans and spyware.

Scan network
Would you like to find all the nodes running in a network ( including remote ones)? No problem, just enter the IP range to check and you will quickly get a list of nodes and the services running on them.

SNMP
A Full SNMP browser, which you can use even if you don't know a thing about SNMP. We have prepared several general categories for each system so you do not have to browse through thousands of SNMP parameters. If you are networking pro, of course, you still have the option to do so.
