Custom MIB Support

Customers can create a custom poller to monitor any SNMP-enabled device value that has a MIB, which amounts to virtually any statistic that a network device records. Examples of custom MIB monitoring include monitoring temperature on a switch, fan speed on a router, and battery status on a UPS.

 

CPU, Memory and Disk Space Monitoring

Monitor and set alerts on the CPU load and memory utilization of your Cisco, Foundry, Extreme, Motorola, ARRIS, Linux, Solaris, HPUX, AIX, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Win XP devices.  Monitor the disk space utilization for Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Win XP, Sun, Novell, and other devices that support the host resource MIB. SNMP Compatibility

Orion allows more secure polling of SNMP values from any device that supports SNMP v3. Orion can also receive SNMP traps, which are specially-configured notifications sent by network devices when unusual events are detected on that node.

 

Syslog Viewer

The Orion Syslog Viewer allows the Network Performance Monitor to receive and process syslog messages from any type of device. Syslog messages are real-time messages that network devices generate to notify about a specific event within the device. Network Maps

Import any map from an existing network diagram, topology map or even a map of the world. The Map Maker can import a map and make it "hot" by dragging nodes onto it. When the map is saved, it is immediately updated with the current status of the added nodes. Map Maker allows grouping of a network into regions, districts, sub-networks and unique locations. Sophisticated Alerting

With Orion you can specify what kind of alerts they want to receive and set thresholds for alerting on up/down percent of bandwidth utilized, memory utilized, CPU utilized, disk space utilized and much more. Fully Customizable Web Views

Open Architecture

Orion uses an open SQL Server database, Windows-based polling engines and an interactive, customizable web interface for viewing the network status and statistics. Orion uses industry-standard MIBs and protocols to monitor the network and does not require the use of remote probes or agents.

 

Custom Accounts by User

Define a general log-on for each department or create unique accounts for each individual customer. One account could view all servers, another all routers, while a customer account could have access to view a single interface. Each account can have its own page layout, content and customized toolbar. Advanced Reporting Engine

The report creation utility is simple to use and walks through the process of either using an existing report or creating a custom report. The Report Writer is great for documenting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for availability and response time. Custom Property Editor

The Custom Property Editor allows you to either select from a predefined list of properties or create you own unique field. Custom HTML Resources

Account Limitation Builder

The Orion Account Limitation Builder application allows you to create and customize limitations so that a user views only the nodes, interfaces and/or volumes that you authorize. Account limitations can be based on custom properties such as customer account number or region.

Integrations & Extensibility

Orion's Web interface is built for easy customization and includes methods for integrating third-party application data or for referencing Orion's data from within other Websites via the fully programmable Web API. The Orion platform also integrates with Engineer’s Toolset and all of the Orion Modules.
