UBUNTU	Ubuntu is a community developed, Linux-based operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers. It contains all the applications you need - a web browser, presentation, document and spreadsheet software, instant messaging and much more.
Knoppix	KNOPPIX is a bootable CD with a collection of GNU/Linux software, automatic hardware detection, and support for many graphics cards, sound cards, SCSI and USB devices and other peripherals. KNOPPIX can be used as a Linux demo, educational CD, rescue system, or adapted and used as a platform for commercial software product demos. It is not necessary to install anything on a hard disk. Due to on-the-fly decompression, the CD can have up to 2 GB of executable software installed on it.
Wine	Wine is an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X, OpenGL, and Unix.Think of Wine as a compatibility layer for running Windows programs. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, as it is a completely free alternative implementation of the Windows API consisting of 100% non-Microsoft code, however Wine can optionally use native Windows DLLs if they are available. Wine provides both a development toolkit for porting Windows source code to Unix as well as a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows programs to run on x86-based Unixes, including Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and Solaris.
SAMBA	Access your Unix/Linux filseystems from your Windows workstations. Samba is an open source software suite that provides seamless file and print services to SMB/CIFS clients. Samba is freely available under the GNU General Public License

Tight VNC	TightVNC is an improved version of VNC, great free remote-desktop tool. The improvements include new bandwidth-friendly "tight" encoding, local cursor support on the client side, enhanced GUI, many bugfixes, and more.
Putty	PuTTY is a free implementation of Telnet and optional SSH for Win32 platforms.

Password Safe	Password Safe is an extremely useful and compact  password database utility. Users can keep their passwords securely encrypted on their computers. Includes a password generator. Faststone  Image Viewer	An image browser, converter and editor that supports all major graphic formats including BMP, JPEG, JPEG 2000, GIF, PNG, PCX, TIFF, WMF, ICO and TGA. It has a nice array of features such as image viewing, management, comparison, red-eye removal, emailing, resizing, cropping, color adjustments, musical slideshow and much more.
Gadwin Printscreen	Want to create a screenshot suitable for saving or printing? Then just hit a key on your keyboard. There are several hotkey combos to choose from (PrintScreen is the default). Once you've chosen your favorite combo, head to the Destination tab and have the screen print out instantly, copy the capture to the clipboard, save it to a specific folder, or even send it through e-mail. You can perform full screen captures, or only capture a specific window. There are also six different image formats to choose from, and each one can be resized. Rename Master	Rename Master is a FREE utility for renaming large groups of files with a few clicks. Anyone that has worked with websites, file archives, or collections of music, videos, or pictures has probably spent way too much time renaming hundreds of files. Wireshark	Wireshark is an award-winning network protocol analyzer developed by an international team of networking experts. It allows you to examine data from a live network or from a capture file on disk. You can interactively browse the capture data, viewing summary and detail information for each packet.
DNSeye	DnsEye is monitoring network traffic by capturing Domain Name System DNS packets in network and displays the host names resolve information. DHCPexplorer	DhcpExplorer tool allows you to discover DHCP servers on your local subnet or LAN. Axence NetTools	The free version of NetTools - a great solution for host monitoring, measuring your network performance, and quickly diagnosing network problems. Big Brother

Big Brother monitors System and Network-delivered services for availability. Your current network status is displayed on a colour-coded web page in near-real time. When problems are detected, you're immediately notified by e-mail, pager, or text messaging. MRTG	The Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) is a tool to monitor the traffic load on network-links. MRTG generates HTML pages containing GIF images which provide a LIVE visual representation of this traffic.  MRTG is based on Perl and C and works under UNIX and Windows NT. Servers Alive	Servers Alive is a network monitor program. It can monitor any Winsock service, ping a host/machine, check if an NT Service/process is running, check the available disk space on a server, check a Netware server, retrieve an URL or check a MS SQL or Oracle database. When any of these is down, it can warn you in various ways, including sending you an email (SMTP) saying what is down, or paging you with a numeric or alphanumeric warning. Servers Alive supports host dependency, such that when one host goes down, all host dependant on that host can also be flagged as down. For ease of use, the program can also be easily interrogated using a TELNET client and/or a web browser.   The program can monitor up to 10 hosts in the unregistered version
NetworkCatcher Lite	Network Catcher, from Shunra Software, is a free network monitoring tool that records and displays latency and packet loss between your PC and any internet site. Use this freeware tool to monitor the quality of your network link. You can save all your recordings and send it to another user via email. Network Catcher also integrates with Shunras network simulation technology, enabling you to capture and import production conditions directly into network simulation scenarios and test applications under real-life network conditions. Well, there's several uses for this particular tool; first and foremost is identifying whether or not a domain has already been registered. NMAP The Network Mapper	nmap is a utility for port scanning large networks, although it works fine for single hosts. The guiding philosophy for the creation of nmap was TMTOWTDI (There's More Than One Way To Do It). This is the Perl slogan, but it is equally applicable to scanners. Sometimes you need speed, other times you may need stealth. In some cases, bypassing firewalls may be required. Not to mention the fact that you may want to scan different protocols (UDP, TCP, ICMP, etc.). You just can't do all this with one scanning mode. And you don't want to have 10 different scanners around, all with different interfaces and capabilities. Thus I incorporated virtually every scanning technique I know into nmap. Vanilla TCP connect() scanning, TCP SYN (half open) scanning, TCP FIN, Xmas, or NULL (stealth) scanning, TCP ftp proxy (bounce attack) scanning, SYN/FIN scanning using IP fragments (bypasses some packet filters), TCP ACK and Window scanning, UDP raw ICMP port unreachable scanning, ICMP scanning (ping-sweep), TCP Ping scanning, Direct (non portmapper) RPC scanning, Remote OS Identification by TCP/IP Fingerprinting, and Reverse-ident scanning.
